Trusted friends, family and clients, I am in need of an honest opinion. For the last several months I have been John Kerrying (flip-flopping) over which new logo I am going to use to brand my business. I keep finding reasons not to pick one and move forward and so I am in need of a more sane opinion, yours (yes, I have driven myself insane over this decision). Both logos are very similar, but oh so different. I am showing you these with a black background because the very first place I am plastering it is on the side of my Hummer. Please vote by leaving a comment (keep it clean kiddos). At the end of the week, the populous shall have spoken and Grant Hammond’s real estate business shall finally have its new printed identity!
Logo Option #1

Logo Option #2

Thank you very much for breaking the tie between me and myself. BTW – don’t be shy about giving suggestions on how these logos could be improved.

got to go batman building.

Those are both great, and it is a tough decision, but I’d vote for the bat building, too.

Number 2

Steve sarago first one

Bat building better signifies NashVegas

Like the 2nd one. Not being from Nashville, the “Bat Ears” are a strong symbol. Also…..dont; like the John Kerry reference…..avaoid politics…..you never know who you will piss off.

I like the one with the batman building. My only suggestion would be to maybe incorporate the pinnacle building to the left of the batman. In my opinion all generic shaped buildings but one made it feel a little out of place.

Keeping things simple has always been my mindset. That being said, Logo #1 looks clean and simple and does not distract from the name of the company. The other logo, although nice looking, seems too busy to me. Good luck!

Would you not want Realty Trust incorporated some where? After all, that is your licensed affiliation.
August 21, 2011, 6:46 pm
The 2nd one isn’t centered over the letters, which throws my eye off a little
If that’s fixed it gets my vote

Logo # 2 feels more like you are advertising yourself as a commercial Broker – it doesn’t convey luxury home as much as downtown/business. If I were trying to pick a logo that represented both markets, I wouldn’t get that from the 2nd logo. Logo # 1 gets my vote.

Second logo does have some reference. I see it as easier to brand. It must be recognizable and memorable…

Option 1 is the winner. Sleek, concise and meaningful. With Option 2, to some, the Batman bldg. may beg the question,”Do you do office spaces as well?”
August 22, 2011, 6:15 am
As I do not live in Nashville, I did not know what the two antenna looking columns in logo 2 signified. Therefore, assuming that the majority of your business is in Nashville, & that the “Batman” building is a significant &/or locally identifiable building, go with #2. For all your out of town investors, the new logo w/the “Batman” building on your business card could be a good conversation starter.

def # 2

#2 says Nashville – my pick
August 22, 2011, 2:19 pm
Agreed. At this point, I have decided to dislike all political parties and consider myself a true independent voting the issues at hand. I am a free agent waiting to be drafted by the most rational person. Nothing against Senator Kerry, but flip-flopping is the only impression the media left on me.

Grant,
#2 definitely says Nashville vertical (highrise)
Might want to introduce a pitched line (chalet eave?) to represent luxury sf

First one……..clean simple. My eye goes imediately to your logo with #1, my eye hangs up on the structure with #2…. It’s about you, not the b-man building.
August 24, 2011, 4:39 am
while i like the idea of making it distinctively Nashville with batman, #1 gets my vote. it’s much cleaner and classier. over and over i’m drawn back to it. there’s something unpleasantly jarring about #2. centering lettering is a good suggestion. and, yes, leave off the political commentary. run this by a few graphic designers, too, if you haven’t already. thanks for asking.

I think the first one is more classic and unique. Even adding the batman to the 1st one would be nice also.
August 25, 2011, 12:53 am
I vote #1, it brings out your eyes
August 26, 2011, 3:17 pm
What’s Realty Trust?
August 26, 2011, 6:15 pm
Thank you everyone for your opinions! It appears that logo #1 has prevailed in both the online and offline counts. Now to work on the slogan and we’ll be finalized.
August 30, 2011, 1:08 am
I like option #2
August 30, 2011, 1:09 am
I would go with option # 2.

Contact a better designer with better prices and you won’t be undecided at all. They do amazing work and have done various logos and marketing materials for our businesses.

Grant,
When it is this hard to decide I suggest you use a new design co. They have great prices and do a much better job. We’ve had several done for our businesses and have great success. Contact chris@4108designs.com.

Logo Option 1 is the choice. The batbuilding is not a condo and thus subtracts from what your brand and log are representing. If your agency represented both commercial and private real estate then perhaps logo 2 would be fine. Branding like billboards should be precise and the image exact however far too often clients feel the need to try and say as much as possible and end up diluting their brand which defeats the goal and purpose of creating a successful campaign. When you read the comments below especially those that chose #2 – they say ” #2 represents Nashville” and they are correct… and what #2 doesn’t represent is Grant Hammond.
September 21, 2011, 1:27 pm
Lance – the more I have thought about it, the more I believe you have hit the nail on the head. I am choosing Logo Option 1 and will now be working on the tag line underneath the logo. Any suggestions?
December 12, 2011, 11:27 pm
Option #2 by far……but I was under the impression you were Mitt Romneying.
